In May of 2022 we ran our first ever donation drive in New Orleans. We worked with Loyola University to coordinate their first ever on campus donation effort. We helped donate over 5 buses worth of goods to community partner organizations.

In late May we lead the first ever off campus pick up donation drive to help students donate their items instead of trash them. This effort redirected over 5 buses worth of goods back into the community for free. Over 25 apartments worth of students from Tulane University and Loyola University participated.

More than 250 students donated items instead of trashing them. Over 1000 pairs of jeans were reused instead of sent to the landfill. Local food pantries as well as a student food pantry were able to accept over 200lbs of food. We were thrilled by the level of enthusiasm students had for this work and we plan on making 2023 even more waste free!
