STEM Library Lab fosters high-quality active learning by providing teachers and students with access to equipment and support to drive academic success. We do this through a variety of programs geared at teacher resources, including our Teacher Free-Store. The Free Store is a space for teachers to pick up free materials for their classrooms! You’ll find office supplies, organizers, art supplies, resource kits, learning aids, manipulatives, and more, everything you need for your classroom or virtual classroom. These materials were provided by in-kind donations from individuals and local businesses.
DIRECT DONATIONS: Donations are accepted weekdays between 2-6pm at our headquarters at 3011 N I-10 Service Rd E, in Metairie. Donors are invited to bring anything they think a teacher might want for their classroom, and are encouraged but not required to email freestore@stemlibrarylab.org to schedule a drop-off during our open hours.

DIRECT DONATIONS: Drop-off location is 506 N. St. Patrick St., New Orleans, LA 70119. The current hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 9am-1pm and Saturday 10am-2pm.  They can be reached at 504-483-9300.

UNITY of Greater New Orleans is a nonprofit organization leading a collaborative of over 60 organizations providing housing and services to the homeless. UNITY’s mission is to coordinate community partnerships to prevent, reduce and end homelessness. In addition to raising and distributing funds for the provision of housing and services by the collaborative, UNITY conducts homeless outreach on the streets and in abandoned buildings, develops nonprofit-owned apartment buildings for those who are homeless or low income, and advocates for public policy to prevent and reduce homelessness. The UNITY Warehouse program provides recently-housed, formerly homeless families and individuals with needed household goods and furniture free of charge to facilitate their transition into permanent housing.

Gladewaves is a local community non-profit fighting food insecurity throughout Metro New Orleans. We do this through our Big Red Box Program which is our system of 10 barrier-free food pantries located across the city. We fill them three times a week with nonperishable foods and appreciate all donations. Every item collected goes directly into the communities we serve.
